themselves or a loved one in Tarrant County.

Term

Acquiring a Bail Bond

Tarrant county bail bond agencies require a ten to fifteen percent deposit against bail. Depending upon the agency and nature of the crime they may also require collateral, such as a mortgage or car title to ensure the bond. Most bail bond agencies also require a commitment on the part of the family and individual applying for bail. The individual will always be required to remain in a fixed location. He or she will always be required to “stay out of trouble”. The bail bondsman may request a daily check in. Failure to comply may negate the bond and return the individual to jail.

In return for the payment and agreement that the individual will comply with terms, the bail bondsman will bring a bail bond to the jail in exchange for the release of the prisoner. He or she will drop the individual off at the house or residence that was cited in the agreement and remind the individual of their terms.

Given the fact that any flight risk or additional criminal behavior will require the bail bonds agency to forfeit the full amount of bail to the courts, these rules are absolutely necessary for all parties involved.

Return of Collateral

When the individual appears in court, all collateral will be returned. If the individual does not appear in court at the appointed time for any reason, the bail bondsman has the right to assume a forfeit and seek to recover the individual and return him or her to jail. Should this happen all money spent in reacquiring the fugitive will be the responsibility of the fugitive and responsible family members to repay.
