Bail Counties
Keep in to mind that, right now, with the number of individuals losing their job on a daily basses and with our economy in a recession, the more states that follow through on the banning bail bond practices would also see more people losing their jobs. Would this be a wise decision by our states and governments? Could this actually drive our country deeper in to debt? Bail bonds help free up space in our jails whether people want to admit to it or not, and in return this saves our tax payers a good sum of money. In 1966, The Bail Reform Act was created. This was the first major change in federal bail bond law since 1789, in which Congress created. The Act in 1966 got criticism from many in Washington DC. This is because all crimes previously fell under the regulation of Federal Bail Law. In a large number of cases, people that were accused of violent crimes but were still released out on a bail bond would be found to commit additional crimes while out on bail, only for them to be re-released on another bail bond. To this day, though, we are still in need of yet another bail bond reform. However, with many other larger problems in our United States economy, it seems that a bail bond reform is on the very back burner of political matters right now.
