Bail Counties
Bright lights, loud crowds, gambling and the other temptations that go along with living in Sin City can sometimes lead to police involvement. If you or a loved one find yourself in front of a judge facing a bail set so high that you cannot possibly post a cash bond then you will need to find a bail bondsman. The term bail is used to describe the amount set by the courts, as well as, the amount paid to the courts as a bail bond to release a Defendant into the custody of a Las Vegas bail bondsman. Posting bail generally means that you are giving the courts a “security”—cash or bond—for the appearance of the prisoner. The Las Vegas bondsman (i.e., the person who acts as surety for the defendant’s appearance, and into whose custody the defendant is released) is secured with the court district to post a bond. This bond is backed by a bank or insurance company.
It is the decision of the court to set bail, choose to remand the individual into his own custody without bail, or even to deny bail. Securing a bail bond through a bail bondsman is not just a payment to a Las Vegas bail bonds agency, but it is a commitment on the part of the Defendant to follow the dictates of the agency securing the bond. He or she must be committed to the Las Vegas bail bond system by checking in regularly with their bondsman, and going to court every time they have a scheduled appearance. They are required to stay out of trouble, and in most cases the bail bondsman will watch the individual more closely than the lawyer or police!
If the individual jumps bail on a Las Vegas bail bond they are going to have to deal with a bounty hunter. The bounty hunter will contact all of the individual’s relatives and friends. Whoever set the bond will also lose the money that they have already given the Las Vegas bail bondsmen. Moreover, if the bail bondsman has to use a bounty hunter the Defendant is responsible for the cost of the bounty hunter.
Having to post bail in Las Vegas is very costly and unpleasant experience to go through. The Las Vegas bail bondsmen keep very detailed records and know more about the defendant than he or she knows about himself or herself. No one will even be remanded into the bondsman’s custody unless they have a fixed address. The Las Vegas bail bondsmen will have to approve the address before he assumes responsibility for the individual. Considering that he or she will be held responsible for paying that money should the defendant not show up to court, it makes sense that they would want to keep a close watch on the defendant. Las Vegas Bail bondsmen understand that sometimes things happen they will work with you to not only secure your release, but ensure that they never have to bond you out in the future.
