The cash bail bond deposits are kept even when the defendant has appeared as ordered. Even if the case is dismissed or there is a not guilty finding the cash bonds withheld a public defender fees. Needless to say, the forfeiture rates of cash bonds are much higher then commercial surety bail bonds. A welcome decision.
